LeadsLeap was founded in 2008 by Kenneth Koh as a no-frills leads building network. It has evolved since to also offer an ad widget, popup form creator, link tracker, social review system, email autoresponder, earn while surfing ad viewing system, page builder, funnel sharing, tutorial, traffic coop, and pdf rebrander.
As you can see, it is much more than your typical ad exchange platform. There are currently 171.4 thousand members and 56.2 million real views have been generated for advertiser’s sites. LeadsLeap is built to give marketers, both new and seasoned, the tools needed to succeed with an online business.
The businesses ideal for this marketing platform are in the niche of making money online, generating leads and traffic, and marketing tools. While I do occasionally see other niches represented in the ads, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone just looking for traffic to their website or blog in a different niche as it can have negative consequences with how Google indexes your site.
Kenneth has maintained a blog since he first founded LeadsLeap and he still handles and responds to support tickets. The site is easy to use, but can be overwhelming to someone brand new to marketing as there is a lot to look at. Fortunately, he offers a getting started email series and tutorials when you first sign up.
LeadsLeap is free to join and offers plenty of tools for anyone that chooses to remain at the free level, including the page builder, list manager, email broadcaster with a welcome message but you cannot make a series, and link tracker.
The upgraded level which is referred to as Pro is $27/month and includes the rest of the tools. There are no other upsells with this program which I really like as there are so many software offers that require a bunch of upsells just to get the features you are looking for. The Pro features add the email series, social review, pdf rebrander, funnel builder, and image/pdf hosting as well as a boost in advertising traffic.
The commission plan is also simple. As a free member, you earn 25% lifetime recurring commissions when a referral upgrades and 50% if you are a pro member. Signing up for a new account is simple and you only need your name, email and to choose a username and password. You can use it for free for as long as you would like, but I imagine that once you update you probably wish you would have done it sooner. The traffic boost is awesome and I saw my list building efforts increase by 6 times the day I upgraded.
There are actually 5 ways you can earn money with LeadsLeap. I already mentioned the affiliate commissions, but you can also earn when you share the coop traffic page to your other traffic sources. You can earn money by displaying a PPC ad widget on your own site or blog. You can convert credits you’ve earned into cash. The last method is the daily active bonus you earn when you surf at least 10 pages in a day, then you earn based on your total views.
As a free member you can post up to 5 credit ads. It is quite simple to set up. You are going to need the URL you would like people to see (preferably this is a simple landing or splash page designed to capture someone’s email address).
The system displays multiple ads at a time for people to choose from so you also are going to need a catchy title and some ad text that piques a viewer’s curiosity to click on your ad. Free users cannot add an image, but you are also going to choose a category for your ad. The last option is to choose how many credits you are going to use to get traffic to the ad. You can either enter the quantity based on how many you’ve earned from surfing, or simply set it to auto and it spends all of your credits equally among the sites you’ve listed.
When you go pro, you can have up to 10 credit ads. You are also given 10 pro ads you can display that are always in rotation and do not require any credits to be seen. LeadsLeap presents your ad not just to other members, but through the coop it gets seen far and wide.
Social Review is another way to get traffic to a program you are recommending and works exactly like a blog with multiple authors. You write about your experience with the program and it is seen by other members and search engine traffic.
This is one of my favorite features at LeadsLeap and it’s available to free and pro members. This works brilliantly as a way to see where your traffic is coming from, if actions are being taken, and how long people view the page.
It is very simple to use. You simply enter the URL you would like to track. You add a name so you know what it is since you can track 199 free links or unlimited Pro links. The software then converts this URL into a cloaked link that tracks everything I mentioned above.
You only need this one link to use with multiple traffic sources because you can add your own unique identifier to the end of the link. For example, if you were going to use this link on Easy Hits 4U, you can add easyhits4u to the end of the link and LeadsLeap tracks these stats separately. This is great if you are using multiple traffic exchanges as it can show you which ones are performing and which ones aren’t.
It also lets you set up a rotator that can be used on exchanges to display multiple pages on a rotating basis at the various sites.
This is an amazing offer for free members to have, considering the money is in the list. If you are new to affiliate marketing, know that building your own email list is the most important thing you can do. I do recommend having your own domain and professional email address, but even that is not required. The service LeadsLeap uses is called SendSteed and lets you use gmail. When an email is sent this way it shows your email address but uses the sendsteed.com domain.
The free account lets you manage a generous 10 lists while the Pro account is unlimited. Every email is double opt-in so the subscriber has to confirm they meant to sign up for your list. Once they do that they will receive the welcome email you set up. Pro members can create an email series that can send an email every day. Both types of accounts can send a broadcast email to the list at anytime.
This is a simple, yet powerful editor that lets you create a landing page to capture an email address. It can also be a more complex sales or informational page. If you can imagine it, you can most likely build it with this editor.
You can choose a color or image for the background, add rows and columns, and insert elements including text, hyperlinks, images, lines, icons, videos, custom code, buttons, input fields, or countdowns.
When you first launch the editor you can start from scratch or choose from templates for opt-in pages, thank you pages, review pages, and download pages.
I’m not going to go in depth with Funnel Manager as it is an advanced feature for members who create many pages. The truth is most users do not need this function, but it is great to have to help you stay organized when there are multiple pages and sequences involved in your business.
This works similar to the page builder and allows you to create stunning popups and forms. The editor has templates to choose from including lightbox and slidebar popups and javascript or html inline forms.
You can set the trigger for popups to happen on exit, scroll percentage or end of post, timer, or click. You can animate the popup with various actions.
Pros can add customization by removing the LeadsLeap logo, add cookies, hide based on words in the url, and show throughout your WordPress website on pages you choose.
This is a pro only feature and is fantastic for creating a viral ebook with affiliate links. You can offer it to someone and they can download it with their own links and a lead magnet they can use to build their own list and downlines.
This is a pro service that lets you keep images and pdfs on the leadsleap website. This is handy if you don’t have your own website to have for banner images and pdfs that you are offering as downloadable material to your list. You simply upload the image or pdf and it gives you a link you can share. This is also used to be able to place images within the emails you send to your list.
The site is filled with tutorials and FAQs to help you get to know everything there is about the features I’ve mentioned above. Just hover over a question mark icon for a brief popup describing what the function is. When you need more in depth knowledge, you can click on the tutorial link that offers you everything you’ll need to know about that function.
It also offers a support ticket system that you can ask for help with something you weren’t able to find on the site. I have not had to use this yet, but the glowing reviews do mention how quick and responsive the team at LeadsLeap is.
You can read over 300 testimonials published near the bottom of the main LeadsLeap page. It is a testament to a site owner that cares about its members and has been doing so for 16 years at the time of this writing.
I only recently discovered LeadsLeap as I’ve been testing out different exchanges and traffic sources for lead generation. I started this process to show how anyone can start a business with little or no startup money, although I did upgrade to a Pro membership after seeing the traffic results after a month and getting conversions. I knew I was going to upgrade the email and I ended up choosing LeadsLeap over Aweber because of everything offered. It is a fantastic service that I am thrilled with and excited to watch my own list grow as I help others grow their lists.
If you haven’t already, you can download my free pdf, Traffic Exchange Leads Blueprint, by clicking here.
I rate LeadsLeap a 9/10. It has generated a lot of traffic and helped build my list the plethora of tools it offers to online marketers. I shied away from giving it a 10 because there is one other traffic exchange that has delivered more views and signups and I am still using that one for free. You’ll have to download my book and read the emails to find out which exchange that is or wait until I get around to publishing the review for that site.
The tools offered are the core essentials necessary to build a solid, successful online business. It may not be as pretty or offer as many bells and whistles as other sites, but as Han Solo would say, “She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts, kid.”
The link tracker alone, is worth the free membership. The quality traffic, email series, pdf rebrander, and commissions are worth the upgrade. If you are an online marketer and looking to expand your business, LeadsLeap is a great tool to have.
I highly recommend LeadsLeap, and offer my support and assistance as well to everyone who signs up with my affiliate link. If you have signed up under me and have any questions about LeadsLeap, building your list, or business in general, I am happy to chat with you.
Cheers to your success!
